DRAFTING A POSITION PROFILE
MSSS proposal for a position profile (Download). Sample job description from CSSS des Iles that includes the position requirements. The sample interview checklist developed by the MSSS to assess the interests, motivations, and careers of PHCNPs (Download) and the sample PHCNP evaluation checklist can also be used to formalize the position (Download). This document, jointly produced by the OIIQ and the FMOQ and available on the RAMQ website, provides a template for drafting a partnership agreement between a PHCNP and one or more physician partners (Download). A registration form for agreement letter no. 229 must be completed (Download) as well as the appendix, if applicable (Download). This report published in March 2013 by the OIIQ offers recommendations for optimizing PHCNP practice to better serve the people of Quebec. (Download)

TRAINING
The Association des Infirmières Praticiennes Spécialisées du Québec (AIPSQ) describes the training required to become a PHCNP and lists the universities offering this training in Quebec (Download). The OIIQ has posted on its website an article on PHCNP training programs and examinations (Download). According to the guidelines, the PHCNP is also expected to devote a minimum of 80 hours in two years to continuing education in her specialty.

LAWS AND REGULATIONS
Some of the regulations regarding PHCNPs are also available on the OIIQ website (Download) :
An Act to amend the Professional Code and other legislative provisions as regards the health sector (in english). Bill 90 (2002, chapter 33) presented on May 1, 2002 and adopted on June 14, 2002, by the National Assembly of Quebec.
